Medical massage is a recognized healthcare profession. Medical Massage Therapists holding a Swiss Federal Diploma of Higher Education are qualified healthcare professionals who make an important contribution to health promotion, prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation.
What is Medical Massage?
Medical massage encompasses a range of manual and physical therapeutic methods designed to promote health, relieve symptoms, and support recovery and healing processes.
These methods include, among others, classical massage, manual lymphatic drainage, connective tissue massage, as well as other reflexive and physical therapy techniques.
Medical Massage Therapists treat patients with disorders of the musculoskeletal, lymphatic, and vascular systems, as well as functional and chronic conditions. They work independently or in collaboration with other healthcare professionals and base their practice on current professional and scientific knowledge.

practice of medical massage in Switzerland, the Swiss Association of Medical Massage (vdms-asmm) is the responsible national organization.
The vdms-asmm serves as the national point of contact for patients, healthcare
professionals, educational institutions, authorities, organizations, and all interested parties. It provides information on professional education, professional practice, and the ongoing development of the profession, while actively promoting quality, recognition, and advancement within the field.
